Guess the Mobster is made by NCS Productions Ltd (company number 16839062), which also runs National Crime Syndicate and Five Families: Escape Rooms. This page explains what we collect when you use Guess the Mobster on the web, Android or iPhone, and why.
You can play without an account. Your progress, streak and stats are kept on your own device (in your browser or the app's storage) and aren't sent to us.
Signing in uses the same account system as Five Families: Escape Rooms, provided by Supabase. We store your email address, a password (stored securely by Supabase, we never see it), the name you choose for the leaderboard, your Respect, badges and the mobsters you've caught, and your daily lineup results (the date, how many questions and wrong guesses). Your board name, Respect and daily results are shown to other players. Your email address is never shown.
When you play someone online, your board name and rank are shown to them, and your questions and answers are passed between your two devices through Supabase while the game is on. Your secret mobster stays on your device until the game ends.
On the web, packs are bought through Five Families: Escape Rooms and paid with Stripe. In the Android and iPhone apps, packs are bought through Google Play or the App Store, and RevenueCat confirms the purchase to us. Stripe, Google and Apple handle your payment details; we never see them. We record which packs your account owns, so a pack bought in one place works everywhere you sign in.
We use Google Analytics to understand how the game is used, for example how many people play each day and which buttons they tap. This records things like your device type, approximate location (country or city) and pages viewed. It doesn't identify you by name.
Only the services that run the game: Supabase (accounts, results and online games), Vercel (hosting), Stripe, Google Play, the App Store and RevenueCat (payments) and Google (analytics). We don't sell your data or use it for advertising.
We keep your account and results until you delete them. When signed in, open the account menu (Sign in / your name at the top) and choose "Delete my Guess the Mobster data" to remove your results and leaderboard name straight away. To delete your whole account, see how to delete your account.
Guess the Mobster is aimed at players aged 13 and over.
Under UK GDPR you can ask to see, correct or delete the data we hold about you. Email office@nationalcrimesyndicate.com. If you're unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
